Crosscurrents is another original composition by Michael Senturia. The notes are not too hard – only Cello 1 gets as high as the Harmonic A on the A-string and it is possible to play Cello 4 in first position (though some shifting is suggested in the editing). What makes this piece challenging is the rhythm – it is full of complicated rhythmic patterns and cross rhythms among the parts. This in itself makes Crosscurrents a great teaching piece. It is very interesting and completely unique. Highly Recommended!
